| A SMALL HELPING HAND AT JUST THE RIGHT TIME Modest Needs is a non-profit organization funded by the generosity of private citizens, reaching out to individuals and families who suddenly find themselves faced with small, emergency expenses that they have no way to afford on their own and can’t qualify for any type of conventional assistance. This means they can’t receive the help they need to overcome a short-term crisis–until they’ve already lost everything. Examples of a small emergency expense could be needing a wheelchair repaired when Medicaid/Medicare will not pay, perhaps a car used to go back and forth to the doctor breaks down and there is no money for the repair, or maybe an electric bill is a tad higher one month because of using an air-conditioner during a brutal heat wave. These are instances where Modest Needs may be of assistance. To find out more about Modest Needs, or if you have a small emergency, please visit their website at www.modestneeds.org or call 1-212-463-7042. The Modest Needs Foundation is located at 115 E 30th Street, FL1, New York, NY 10016.
