Winter 2007                                                                                                                 Volume 6
FROM THE DESK OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

DRIVE (Disabled Rights Initiative for Voter Empowerment) is a group of dynamic, forward-looking persons who are actively taking on the challenge of improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities living in Nassau County. DRIVE’s members—persons with disabilities as well as non-disabled folk—are united behind the common goal to ensure a collective voice is heard by candidates for public  office, political representatives and other government officials.  We aim to make known to those who speak for our communities the concerns and issues important to voters with disabilities and to use our voting power to hold those persons accountable for bringing  disability issues to the political forefront.

Come join us. Bring your energy, ideas and your commitment to helping others, as well as yourself. Our
next meeting will be held on March 26, 2007, from 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm. The address is: Suite 500, (fifth floor)
3601 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown, NY.

Become a member of DRIVE—we would love to have you with us.
